앨범 작업중 키보디스트 Mikko Harkin이 개인적인 이유로 팀을 탈퇴하게 되면서 보컬 리스트이자 모든 곡작업을 담당하는 Tony Kakko가 키보드 파트까지 맡게 되었으며, Jens Johansson이 4곡에 게스트로 참여하여 화제가 되기도 한 Winterheart's Guild 앨범이다. 전작 Silence에 대한 유럽, 일본등지의 반응은 실로 폭발적이었는데, 이제는 혜성같은 존재에서 여느 선배밴드들과 어깨를 나란히 하는 노련함으로의 업그레이드를 표방하려는 듯하다. Sonata Arctica의 음악은 완성도의 면에서 데뷔작때부터 이미 정립되었으며, 두 번째 앨범에서 프로그레시브적 어법으로 사운드를 다양화시켰다. 데뷔작에 비해 멜로디가 많이 뒤쳐지는 느낌이지만, 자기발전의 단계를 거쳐낸 Sonata Arctica는 깊숙히 음미할 만한 질감과 신선함을 동시에 우려내고 있다.
