골수 Thrash Metal 팬들에게 최강의 밴드로 군림하는 Slayer의 세 번째 정규작 Reign In Blood 앨범이다. 소위 '절대명반'으로서 컬트적인 추앙을 받고 있는 작품으로, 당시에는 쉽게 찾아볼 수 없었던 무시무시한 스피드와 파괴력으로 청자를 압도하였다. Thrash Metal과 Death Metal의 교각역할을 가장 충실히 수행해낸 앨범으로 인간내면의 파괴성을 심플하면서 적나라하게 묘사하였다. Slayer의 본작은 Metallica, Megadeth의 메이저 사운드와는 대비되는 타협하지 않는 죽음의 미학을 선사한다.
