Mike Matijevic을 중심으로 하여 Red Alert란 밴드명으로 활동하다 MCA와 계약을 체결한 이후 Steelheart로 개명하였다. 본작은 Steelheart의 셀프타이틀 데뷔작으로 서정적인 록발라드와 경쾌한 메틀곡들로 구성되어 있다. She's Gone이란 곡 하나로 Steelheart를 평가하는 것은 말도 안되는 것이겠지만 역시 이 노래 하나만으로도 앨범의 가치는 충분하다고 생각된다. Mike Matijevic의 상상을 초월하는 고음력을 들을 수 있는 Sheila, 유려한 메틀발라드 I'll Never Let You Go등을 수록하고 있다.
