Secret Sphere은 지난 두장의 앨범에서 폭넓은 공간감의 깊은 여운을 간직한 색채적이고 애상적인 드라마틱한 전개로 수많은 멜로딕 매니아들을 사로잡았다. Nuclear Blast로 이적하여 발표한 세 번째 앨범인 본작 Scent Of Human Desire에서는 멤버들이 어떠한 심경의 변화를 일으켰는지, 부클릿의 사진에서도 짐작할 수 있는 한층 현대적이고 리듬이 강조된 음악을 들려준다. 분명, 멜로디가 최우선이나 전작과 비교하면 'groove'라 할 만한 사운드인데, 의도한 것인지 알 수 없는 주술적인 느낌의 보컬과 맞물려 이질적으로 들린다. 웅장함의 면에서 스케일은 소박해졌지만 다양한 느낌의 실험적인 시도가 많아 더욱 넓은 표현영역을 확보했다고 할 수 있겠다. 처음엔 조금 당황스러울지 몰라도 반복해서 감상해보면 Secret Sphere의 감각이 위축된 것이 아님을 느끼게 될 것이다.
