1988년에 White Heat 라는 밴드명으로 결성되어 활동하다가 Epic 레코드사와 계약을 체결한 이후 Firehouse로 개명하고 1990년에 셀프타이틀 데뷔작을 발표하였다. 본작은 Firehouse의 명성을 더욱 확고히 한 두 번째 작품으로 Glam Metal의 정수를 담고 있다. 데뷔작에 비해 헤비메탈의 요소가 조금 더 부각되고 있는 만큼 상업적으로는 골드 레코드에 머물렀다. 밴드를 대표할 만한 타이틀곡 "Hold Your Fire", 빌보드 6위에 오른 빅 히트 싱글 "When I Look Into Your Eyes" 등 감동적인 멜로디를 환상의 코러스로 감싸안았다.
