Dark Asylum Lyrics

In this cathedral that I built
Black stone and mortar laced with guilt
I pray to heal this pain within
But these walls remember every sin

I feel the silence calling
From the wounds that never heal
The night becomes my kingdom
Where the lost learn how to kneel

Welcome to the dark asylum
Where angels burn and dreams decay
Chains of memories still bind them
As the light disintegrates
In the heart of my delusion
There's truth in the confusion
In this dark asylum I remain

I summon ghosts around my bed
And speak in riddles for the dead
I beg for peace that I've never earned
And watch the altar candles burn

Welcome to the dark asylum
Where angels burn and dreams decay
Chains of memories still bind them
As the light disintegrates
In the heart of my delusion
There's truth in the confusion
In this dark asylum I remain

Through mirror cracks I see the flame
Of who I was before the shame
Released the tears I've tried to hide
So I can heal from deep inside

Hear the echoes call my name
Through the halls of endless blame
I'm the question and the answer
A silent prayer on a dying page

Welcome to the dark asylum
Where we dance with yesterday
Love is a curse and hope is a tyrant
And I choose the stay
In the heart of my delusion
There's truth in the confusion
In this dark asylum I remain
