Edge Of Sanity는 Melodic Death Metal의 성지인 스웨덴 출신밴드로 Dan Swano를 주축으로 1989년에 결성되었다. 본작 Crimson은 Death Metal의 궁극적 미학을 담고 있는 다섯 번째 음반으로 40여분짜리 동명타이틀곡 하나만을 수록해 화제가 되었다. Melodic Death Metal이 번성하기 이전 이미 진화의 끝을 확인시켜준 최고의 실험작이다. 밀고 당기는 구성과 오밀조밀한 멜로디가 듣기 좋다. 전작 Purgatory Afterglow와 함께 Edge Of Sanity의 최고작으로 지목된다.
