The hissing in the garden
Wishing God's defeat

Stalking the parameters of waiting prey

Beneath the frozen stars
Children of the dark, of the craft we are
Deliciously grotesque
Severe puzzle boxes bursting to be solved
Not by any church absolved
Firebrands thirsting to be involved
In their ascent

Thick thorns adorn a twisted halo
For the fools and cruelly vain
As cathedrals soar, our sisters lay low
For the war-cry to roar back again

The moon writhes in her orbit
And doused in blood she stirs
The tides to rise and deep inside
Her womb her daughters purr
Tonight the skies are spiteful
The gates are wearing thin
And through accruing torments shod
Our hated reign begins again

Poisonous these words of power
Uttered back
Engage the fatal mechanism
And with that
This virus
Inside us
Desires to be free

Devotees whipped into a frenzy
Of intoxication in celebration of sin
Enchantment answers and dancers envy
Puppet masters faster pulling the strings
