Kvasir's Blood Lyrics

Born
Born from the spit
Born from the spit of the mighty Gods
Kvasir
Kvasir the wise
Kvasir, the wisest of all

Deceiver (Fjalar)
And Screamer (Galar)
Conspired (Samsóru)

Nine
The nine worlds
He wandered all the nine worlds
Counseling
All who would ask
All who would ask his advice

Deceiver (Fjalar)
And Screamer (Galar)
Conspired (Samsóru)
Their deepest desire
To end his life and...

From Kvasir's blood
They brewed a mead
Of wisdom and of poetry
A drink
Of Gods
The brew they made from Kvasir's blood

The vicious brothers
For amusement they killed
For amusement they killed Suttung's kin
But Suttung he hunted
He hunted them down
He hunted and seized the malicious dwarves

Deceiver (Fjalar)
And Screamer (Galar)
Despairing (Huglauss)
To save their lives
They gave Suttung the mead

It must be mine
The brew so sweet
The one they call Suttung's mead
The drink
Of Gods
The mead they brewed from Kvasir's blood

Murder
Deceit
Follows
The mead

So Suttung brought it to his mountain hall
A plan took shape within in my mind
With Baugi's help I breached those mighty walls
I tricked him with deceitful lies

Inside I drank the vats of mead
And shifted to an eagle's shape
Then I flew back home to Asgård's keep
With mighty Suttung giving chase

Deceiver (Fjalar)
And Screamer (Galar)

From Kvasir's blood
They brewed a mead
Of wisdom and of poetry
I craved
This mead
The drink they brewed

And now it's mine
The brew so sweet
The mead of great sagacity
The drink
Of Gods
The mead they brewed from Kvasir's blood
