Additional notes
Cavalera Conspiracy was initially conceived on August 17th, 2006, when brothers Max and Igor Cavalera reunited for the first time in 9 years at the D-Low Memorial in Tempe, Arizona, USA; Igor joined Soulfly on drums for renditions of the Sepultura classics "Attitude" and "Roots Bloody Roots". After this show, they decided to form a new band. Cavalera Conspiracy marked the reunion of the Cavalera brothers after nearly a decade and the first time they had made music together since the infamous Sepultura break-up in January 1997.
Initially, Max wanted to call the project "Inflikted", but as the name has been used before, it was changed to "The Cavalera Conspiracy" and then shortened to Cavalera Conspiracy to avoid potential legal conflicts, which would have held up the album release. The name "Inflikted" was instead used for the band's debut album. The Cavaleras initially asked Jean-Michel Labadie of Gojira to be the bass player of their band, but he was busy with other commitments, and Joe Duplantier ended up being the band's bassist until 2010.
From 2016, they started to book tours under the moniker Max & Iggor Cavalera on which they would exclusively play material from Max and Iggor's time in Sepultura.
The re-recorded albums Morbid Visions, Schizophrenia, and EP Bestial Devastation have been released on physical formats under the name Cavalera. The digital versions still bear the name Cavalera Conspiracy.
