더블앨범으로 제작된 본작 Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence의 첫 번째 시디에는 Hardcore적인 리프도입등 당대의 시류에 편승한 듯한 인상이 드는 과감하고 다양한 사운드를 담고 있으며, 두 번째 시디에는 Scenes From A Memory사운드의 연장선상에 있는 8개파트로 나뉘어진 42분짜리 동명 타이틀곡을 수록하고 있다. '내적경량의 여섯 단계'라는 의미의 타이틀곡은 오케스트레이션의 본격도입과 함께 서정미의 극치를 달리는 대곡으로 Dream Theater가 아니면 느낄 수 없는 감동을 선사한다. Goodnight Kiss등에서 또 다시 '꿈의 극장'의 전율적인 명연을 확인할 수 있다.
