2001년 발매된 본작은 수많은 웹사이트에서 만점을 받으며 '올해의 앨범'에 오르는등 한해를 떠들석하게 하였다. Avantasia는 Edguy의 싱어송라이터인 Tobias Sammet이 구상한 프로젝트 밴드로서 Michael Kiske, Kai Hansen, Andre Matos, Timo Tolkki, Rob Rock등의 최고의 뮤지션들을 초빙하여 거대한 'Metal Opera'를 구현해내었다. Edguy의 Theater Of Salvation에서 보여준 오페라적인 요소가 극대화되어 환상적인 메틀사운드로 승화되었다. Michael Kiske의 보컬이 빛을 발하는 Reach Out For The Light, Rob Rock의 절도있는 파워보이스가 지배하는 The Glory Of Rome, 밀도높은 구성과 진행을 들려주는 The Tower, 그리고 앨범의 백미인 Avantasia등에서 절정에 달한 Metal Opera를 들을 수 있다. 본작의 완성도로 말미암아 볼 때 Tobias Sammet의 고생이 이만저만이 아니었을 것 같다.
