기존의 Gothic Metal 계열 밴드들이 일반적으로 Gothic과 Doom에 양다리를 걸치고 있는 것에 비해서 진정한 의미로서의 '고딕'사운드의 미학을 가장 적나라하게 묘사하고 있다고 생각되는 Lacrimosa의 정규6집이자 대작앨범인 Elodia이다. 오케스트라를 포함한 187명의 게스트뮤지션들과의 협연으로 거대한 스케일의 아름다운 록오페라를 만들어 내었다. 세세하게 설명하는 것 자체가 허무하게 느껴질 정도로 음악적 수준이 극에 달해 있는 앨범으로 Tilo Wolff는 '위대한' 이라는 수식어가 따라 주어야 한다. 후반 피아노와 기타의 솔로연주가 인상적인 Ich Verlasse Heut' Dein Herz, 대곡지향적인 이들 음악의 결정판 Sanctus등이 수록되어 있다.
