Truth to the Cross Lyrics

Men of the cross fight together as one renouncing the tyrant
We bring forth the wrath of God
Soon we'll greet the dawn, sound of horn and drum
Cock cries from his heart, at last it's here the time has come
Stands before the trumpets cry across the field, the banners fly
Arms of pageantry, brilliance on display
Men, they bear their blazon shields, united on this day
Comrades, hear the noble call, heathen foe prepare to fall
We vow our allegiance to the cross
Go forth with valor, bring with us the spirit of God
United stand strong, our truth to the cross, together as one

Bowmen take their aim, now prepare to fire
Let loose a barrage of shafts enough to fill the sky
Clatter down upon the shields, holding firm, refuse to yield
Sturdy horsemen ride as the meet the fray
Lances pierce our steel, men falling, still we don't give way
Cleave a helm with battle axe, spear a heart and break a back
The tide has now turned and we attack
The javelins plummet down, the cavalry cannot advance
Together again, we stand strong, our truth to the cross, together as one

Steeds are mounted once more for the one last charge
Soldiers vow to breach the line, again we cut them down
Battle worn, our will is strong, still the blood bath rages on
Casualties are many, hence the outcome's clear
Death surrounds us, seems to indicate the end is near
Thousands die with sword in hand, bodies scattered cross the land
Bone weary and haggard they fall, we now sense the victory's ours
Together by virtue we've won
United together stand strong, our truth to the cross
By virtue together we've won we're true to the cross
Bring with us the spirit of God, truth to the cross
United together once more, our truth to the cross
