Additional notes
Recorded at Systems Two/Brooklyn, NY.
The album itself is dedicated to the former member of The Electric Hellfire Club, Shane Lassen.
The album peaked at #42 on the Billboard 200.
Johnny Kelly is credited for drums on this album, but in actuality the drums were programmed by keyboardist Josh Silver.
The nature photography used in the booklet was originally published in the book "Forests" by Tim Fitzharris, released in 1991.
For track 1, the band recorded a low-level buzz as a joke. Some people who had purchased the album believed their copies to be defective and attempted to return the CD to get it replaced, not realizing the track's inclusion was deliberate.
Tracks 2 and 15 are untitled.
The lady who appears in the music video "Love You to Death" is, in fact, Peter Steele's ex-girlfriend and is dedicated to her.
An edited and instrumental version of "Haunted" was included on the soundtrack of the video game "Descent II" (1996).
"Pictures of Matchstick Men", a cover of Status Quo, was recorded during the sessions for this album. There are 2 versions of this song. The first is the version with better quality with Ozzy Osbourne as lead singer that was included in the Soundtrack of the movie "Private Parts: The Album" (1997). The second is the low quality version with Peter Steele on vocals that was leaked in 2012.
