This marks the first album since "Bloody Kisses" to feature live drums. According to an interview with Peter Steele, the previous three albums featured a drum machine programmed by Josh Silver, using samples from Johnny Kelly.
In an interview with Peter Steele in March 2006, he wanted to guest Phil Anselmo or Glenn Danzig on this album, but the idea came to nothing.
Peter Steele revealed in an interview that "Halloween in Heaven" is dedicated to all the musicians who have passed away, especially Dimebag Darrell, but he didn't want to emphasize the latter too much due to the thousands of tributes he received at the time.
