Additional notes
Recorded at Parkgate Studios, Catsfield, East Sussex, England, UK with additional work undertaken at New Rising Studios, Peldon, in late Summer and Autumn 2002.
Mastered at Sony Studios, Whitfield Street, London.
Full album title: Damnation and a Day: From Genesis to Nemesis. The album is a concept work based partly on John Milton's epic poem "Paradise Lost."
The album is divided into 4 parts:
I. "Fantasia Down" (tracks 1-4)
II. "Paradise Lost" (tracks 5-8)
III. "Sewer Side Up" (tracks 9-12)
IV. "The Scented Garden" (tracks 13-17)
The song "Carrion" was used in the 2003 animated film Dominator, which featured Dani Filth as the voice of Dominator.
The song "Doberman Pharaoh" is credited as "Doberman Pharaoh or Destiny Wore a Bondage Mask" in the booklet included with the disc, but not on the track listing on the back cover.
This is the first Cradle album since "Dusk...and Her Embrace" to feature only one full-time guitar player, as original guitarist Gian Pyres quit the band shortly before the writing and recording process. Keyboardist Martin Powell played session guitars for the album.
