The song "The Kinslayer" is about the Columbine High School massacre (20 April 1999)
"FantasMic" is considered a tribute to Walt Disney and the movies and characters of the Walt Disney Studios.
Spinefarm released a limited edition (2000 copies, first pressing) with a 3D cover. This version was only available in Finland and included "Sleepwalker" as a bonus track.
The 2004 digipak CD re-release by Spinefarm Records includes the bonus track "Sleepwalker" (2:56). In that version, track "FantasMic" is also bit longer, 08:27. This difference, however, just consists of some added seconds of silence.

자국인 핀란드에서는 일반 팝그룹 이상의 지명도를 가지고 있는 Nightwish의 정규 세 번째 작품 Wishmaster 으로, 정신없었던 전작에 비해 멜로디, 구성면에서 좀 더 정돈된 느낌이 드는 앨범이다. 작곡의 키를 쥐고 있는 키보디스트 Tuomas Holopainen의 역량이 빛을 발하고 있는데, 싱글로 발표되어 높은 인기를 구가한 Deep Silent Complete등 특별한 트랙을 지정하기 힘들 정도로 고른 완성도를 보이고 있다. 'Operatic Melodic Power Metal'의 진수를 담고 있는 또 하나의 역작이다.
