It was originally scheduled for release in Fall 2010, but the initial, experimental-leaning sessions were scrapped at their label's behest, thus forcing the band to rewrite the album.

The album was available in two editions, standard and deluxe. The latter contained four bonus tracks plus a DVD with behind the scenes footage of the recording sessions.

As of 2016, track #9 is titled as "The End of the Dream" on all new pressings. On the deluxe edition, track #13 is titled as "A New Way to Bleed".
