Additional notes
Lacuna Coil was originally formed as Sleep of Right in 1994 and recorded a song titled "Bleeding Souls" for the Noise of Bolgia compilation in 1995, but soon changed their name to Ethereal. Once signed by Century Media Records at the end of 1997, they changed their name again to Lacuna Coil (which means "empty spiral"), in order to have a more unique name.
The Sleep of Right's lineup consisted of Andrea Ferro (vocals), Marco Coti Zelati (bass), Michaelangelo Algardi (drums), and Raffaele Zagaria (guitars).
Alice Elizabeth Chiarelli was supposed to be a permanent member, but she only played keyboards with the band during March and April 1998, on their European tour supporting The Gathering.
Both guitar players - namely Claudio Leo and Raffaele Zagaria - quit after Lacuna Coil's debut EP was released, and went on to form Cayne. The new line-up remained stable for 16 years when drummer Cristiano Mozzati and guitarist Cristiano Migliore left themselves; from 2014 onwards, Lacuna Coil has been playing with only one guitarist - they had two of them since the birth of the band.
In 2012, Century Media filed one single lawsuit against 7000 internet users who had shared Iced Earth's Dystopia and Lacuna Coil's Dark Adrenaline online. A judge later denied 943 subpoenas pertaining to Lacuna Coil's case.
