Additional notes
American sludge band from New Orleans known for their misanthropic lyrics and endless troubles with law and drugs. They broke up in 2000, but reformed 5 years later. Lead singer Mike Williams was arrested in 2005, following the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, but with the help of supporters was released in December of that same year.
On August 23, 2013 the band's drummer Joe LaCaze died. Brian Patton quit in late 2017, making the band a 4 piece for the 1st time in their career.
Seth Putnam, a friend of the band, did vocals for one Eyehategod show while Mike was in prison. Philip Anselmo played guitar for a show at CBGB's (replacing Brian Patton) and has also appeared live with Eyehategod numerous times.
Have a 2-CD tribute album titled For the Sick released on Emetic Records with cover songs from bands like Brutal Truth, Sourvein, Minsk, Lair of the Minotaur, Alabama Thunderpussy, Ramesses, and many others.
At the Roadburn 2010 festival in Tilburg (Holland), Mike Williams, Brian Patton, and Joey LaCaze formed a grindcore project named Fuckmouth. They played a few songs while waiting for Gary Mader to replace a broken string.
