1997년에 데뷔작 Exile을, 1999년에 EP 앨범 Sodomizing The Archangel를 공개한 이후 Drudenhaus 앨범으로 매니아들의 뇌리에 각인된 Anorexia Nervosa의 정규 세 번째 작품 New Obscurantis Order 앨범이다. 강력하고 시니컬한 오케스트라 심포닉 블랙메틀 사운드로 전작에서의 평을 어느정도 이어간 앨범이지만 개인적으로는 실망한 앨범이다. 전작에서 들려주었던 휘향찬란한 멜로디는 거의 소멸되고 패스트 블랙메틀에 가까운 음악을 구사하고 있다.
