Ophthalamia is a fantasy world created by It.
All was the first singer, but he had to move away and was replaced by Shadow (in "A Journey in Darkness"). After that, Shadow was replaced by Legion (on "Via Dolorosa"). Ever since Legion had to leave and join Marduk, All had joined Ophthalamia again. Axa was It’s girlfriend during that time and composed “No Dreams Breed in Breathless Sleep” on Dissection's "Storm of the Light's Bane".
There was a promotional demo prior to the "A Long Journey" unreleased MLP, called "The Eternal Walk", it included only one song (the same as the demo title) and it was later included on the "To Elishia" CD but without its outro. This promo demo was sent around by It when he was promoting the Abruptum demos.
On their early demos and first two albums, the band played doom/death metal. Later they started to implement melodic black metal into their sound as well.
