Additional notes
Recorded at Ivories Studio Prague during October and November 1992.
The original CD-release Jilemnický okultista was entirely printed in the Czech language and released by the band independently. It has a slightly different cover than the later released Osmose version (the cover picture is taken from a different perspective). This version was first released by the band, before being licensed to Osmose in 1993 under English title The Jilemnice Occultist.
The English track listing from the Osmose edition:
1. Ouverture
2. Among the Hills a Winding Way...
3. I Don't Want, Sirs to Pester...
4. A Dark Forest Spreads All Around...
5. That Magnificent Deer Has Vanished...
6. My Captain...
7. By the Misery of fate I'm Haunted...
8. Oh, My Precious Sir...
9. Everything That Just on My Whim...
10. Glory, Herr Hauptmann...!
11. Sucharda's Home
The album, sans the last track, reads like a narrative play, telling the tale of Atrament, an occultist and student in Jilemnice, and his plight with Poebeldorf, a false captain masquerading as Satrapold, who jails Atrament and attempts to serenade Calamaria, a fellow occultist and the daughter of Spiritus, owner of the local pub. Calamaria discovers Poebeldorf's true identity, and he is put in prison once Satrapold, the true captain of Jilemnice, arrives. The final track is somewhat of a bonus and is an inscription on a stone outside of a house that reads somewhat like an epitaph.
