Judas Priest 최초의 더블 라이브 앨범으로 "Jugulator" 앨범의 월드투어를 담고 있다. 90년대는 그런지의 부흥으로 대변되는 헤비메탈의 추락을 맛본 쓰라린 시기였고, 주다스 프리스트의 인기도 예전 같지 않은 것이 사실이다. 왕년의 명 라이브 앨범인 "Unleashed in the East"나 "Priest... Live!"와 직접적으로 비교하는 것은 다소 무리가 있고 Ripper의 목소리로 예전의 명곡들을 들어본다는 것에 의미를 두는 것이 좋을 듯하다. "'98 Live Meltdown"을 구성하는 24곡 중에서 5곡 만이 "Jugulator" 앨범으로부터 선곡되었다는 점에서 기존 음악을 좋아하는 골수팬들의 위치가 막강함을 보여주고 있다. 본작의 장점 중 가장 두드러지는 부분은 '생동감'으로 음원 믹싱 시 거의 손을 보지 않아서 연주에서의 노련함이 생생하게 전해지며 관객들과의 깊은 교감으로 마치 당시 공연장의 한복판에 있는 듯한 착각을 일으킨다. 본작의 하이라이트는 단연 "Diamonds and Rust"로 어쿠스틱 기타의 정적과 샤우트 보컬의 기가 막힌 조화를 보여주며 완전히 새로운 곡으로 다시 태어났다.
