미국출신으로 Technical Thrash Metal 사운드를 구사한다. Watchtower는 1986년 Zomba에서 내놓은 Energetic Disassembly로 데뷔하였으며, 보컬과 기타 두명의 새로운 멤버를 맞이하여 Noise에서 내놓은 본작 Control And Resistance 은 이들의 두 번째 앨범이다. 잼을 연상시키는 즉흥적인 느낌이 강한데 복잡한 연주속에서도 멤버들의 조화가 톱니바퀴 맞물리듯 하는 것이 신기하기까지 하다. 사운드는 날카로움 그 자체로, 쭈뼛서는 하이톤의 보컬과 스래쉬를 연상케하는 저돌적인 기타리프에 시종일관 난무하는 변박의 리듬섹션을 구사한다. Mekong Delta와 함께 미학적 Technical Progressive Metal의 시초로 생각된다.
