Stratovarius의 아성에 도전하는 핀란드 출신 Sonata Arctica의 데뷔작 Ecliptica이다. 멜로디의 면에서는 언급한 밴드를 능가하는 역량을 보여주여 계열 매니아들을 깜짝 놀라게 하였다. Avantasia, Rhapsody의 앨범과 함께 가장 뛰어난 데뷔앨범이 본작이 아닐까 싶은데, 'Melodic Power' 라는 말에 조금이라도 호감을 가지는 사람이라면 반드시 큰 만족을 얻을 것이다. 시원하게 달리는 통쾌한 오프닝 트랙 Blank File, Sonata Arctica의 멜로디 감각이 장난이 아님을 보여주는 Fullmoon, My Land 등 필청앨범이다.
